Fall Move-In Information

Welcome to your new home! We are dedicated to making your move-in day a smooth and easy experience. Whether you are moving to a residence hall, campus apartment or house, we are here to help.

Move-In Date

New First-Year Students
  • Wednesday, August 20, 2025, 9:00–11:00 a.m.
Transfer Students
  • Saturday, August 23, 2025, 9:00-11:00 a.m.
New Graduate Students
  • Saturday, August 23, 2025, 9:00-11:00 a.m.
Returning Students
  • Returning students are welcome to arrive any time after 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23.

Students living in the residence halls will check in directly at their hall. Students living in apartments and houses will check in at Cureton Hall and then proceed to their assigned area.

Please note, if you are arriving before Wednesday, August 20 (via the Early Arrival application and process) or after Sunday, August 24, your keys will be available for pickup from Public Safety—located in Lehmann Hall (entrance faces Langhorst Field).

Fall meal plans will begin on Saturday, August 23. Orientation will cover meals for first-year and transfer students during the orientation program.

Planning for Your Arrival to Campus

Fall 2025 Early Arrival Information

Students participating in one of the below groups may move in early on the below date listed for their early arrival group.  Students in these groups do not need to submit an early arrival request as your name will be provided to our office by your coach or the staff member working with the group.

If you are in one of these below groups and want to arrive on a date other than what is listed for your group, you will need to submit the Early Arrival Request Form, which is available under “Applications” on My Housing in the myElmhurst Portal.

Tuesday, August 12

Football

  • Check-in will take place between 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Office of Housing and Residence Life, located in West Hall.

Please note, early arrival is not available before August 11

Wednesday, August 13

OSLs

  • Key pickup will take place at Public Safety between 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Friday, August 15

Volleyball, Women’s Soccer, Men’s Soccer, Women’s Tennis, Men’s Tennis, Women’s Golf, and Men’s & Women’s Cross Country

  • Key pickup will take place at Public Safety between 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Wednesday, August 20 (no early arrival action needed)

  • First-Year Student Move-In Day
Saturday, August 23 (no early arrival action needed)
  • New Transfer Student Move-In Day
  • New Graduate Student Move-In Day
  • Returning Student Move-In Day

  • International Students: Please complete the Early Arrival application if you are arriving outside of the regular move-in dates.

Out-of-Area Early Move-In Dates

  • August 19: Out-of-Area New Students

You may move in one day early without charge if you are a new out-of-area student set to move in on Wednesday, August 20. To qualify for this group, you must submit an Early Arrival Request Form, which is available under “Applications” on My Housing in the myElmhurst Portal.

Individual Requests

Any student not in a pre-approved group, as indicated above, who wishes to request early arrival housing may submit the Early Arrival Request Form, which will be available on July 15 under “Applications” on My Housing in the myElmhurst Portal. Early Arrival requests must be received by August 4 at 11:59 p.m. Requests submitted after August 4 will be reviewed on an individual basis. Anyone who would like to arrive earlier than their scheduled move-in date will be charged $25/night. The application will be open until August 4, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. All applications for early arrival housing will be reviewed and students will receive a response to their Elmhurst University email address upon review. The earliest a student with an approved individual request can move in is Monday, August 11.
