Arthur Petersen is a professor of science, technology and public policy at University College London, and is editor-in-chief of Zygon: Journal of Religion and Science. Before joining University College London, he worked for more than 13 years as a scientific adviser on environment and infrastructure policy for the Dutch government.
On Wednesday, Nov. 15, Petersen will present “Climate Change and Public Policy: Lessons from the Netherlands” at Elmhurst University.
Besides his work for the Dutch government, he served as chief scientist of the PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency. He also is a research affiliate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as a visiting professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Petersen has doctoral degrees in atmospheric science, public policy and theology, and most of his research is about dealing with uncertainty.
