With doctoral degrees in both scripture and astrophysics, Father John Francis Kartje brings unique insight to the exploration of how faith and science inform each other.
On Wednesday, November 13, Kartje will present “How to Engage Mystery: Advice from a Scientist for Nones, Nuns and All,” this year’s Joseph Cardinal Bernardin Lecture.
Kartje is rector of the University of Saint Mary of the Lake, also known as Mundelein Seminary. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Chicago in 2002, and has served in parish and campus ministry in both Chicago and Washington, D.C. He holds doctorate degrees in scripture from the Catholic University of America and in astrophysics from the University of Chicago.
