Brad R. Braxton is president and professor of public theology at Chicago Theological Seminary, a graduate school known for its leadership in social justice and interfaith engagement. In this year’s Niebuhr Lecture, Braxton will employ insights from postcolonial studies to provide a religious rationale for reparations for trans-Atlantic slavery, arguing that reparations is an integral aspect of any serious effort to foster racial reconciliation, social healing and genuine “liberty and justice for all.”
