The 6th annual Graduate Student Scholarship Competition recognizes graduate and doctoral students* who are pursuing the next step in their education and who are looking to expand their service and leadership skills. The application for students entering in the Summer or Fall of 2025 is now open.

Next Steps

  • Create a short video that demonstrates:
    • How pursuing this degree will enhance your approach to leadership and community service.
    • How you view service and leadership as it relates to your career or future career.
    • How earning this scholarship will allow you to give back to the Elmhurst University Community.
  • Complete your Graduate Student Scholarship Competition application with video by July 1, 2025.

Submit Scholarship Application

  • Student participants must meet the following video requirements:
    • Videos must be 2 – 3 minutes long.
    • Participants must appear in the video at least once.
    • The video must provide thoughtful and comprehensive responses to all three scholarship questions.
    • Make sure to use creativity & storytelling through the use of graphics and other visuals to tell your story.

Watch our Video

  • First Place: A renewable half-tuition scholarship for up to two years of graduate or doctoral study.
  • All qualified competition participants** will receive a $500 renewable scholarship for up to two years of graduate or doctoral studies.

Finalists will be invited to a Zoom interview. The winner will be announced at our New Graduate Student Reception on August 14, 2025.

*Only those admitted to a master’s or doctoral degree program for Summer 2025 or Fall 2025 are eligible to participate. International students and students receiving a partnership tuition discount are not eligible to participate. The first-place scholarship is not stackable with other scholarships, grants or fellowships.

**Participants must meet all of the requirements to be eligible for the participation scholarship. Please note: videos that fail to meet the length, appearance, or content requirements and submissions with unclear audio, lack of engagement, or minimal effort may not be considered.
