Program Types

Travel with a group of Elmhurst students and faculty. Faculty-led programs are perfect for students looking for more support abroad or who cannot be away for an entire semester.

  • Terms offered: J-Term, Spring Break, Summer
  • Program Cost: Elmhurst tuition + program fee. Scholarships are available. For more details, visit the Study Abroad Scholarships and Financing page.
  • Eligibility: All students with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Check your preferred program for any additional eligibility criteria.
  • Application: Complete the Elmhurst application on the study abroad portal and submit a $100 deposit.
  • Credits: 0.25-1.0 credits. Courses may fulfill AoK, Major, Minor or Elective credits. All programs fulfill the G tag and Experiential Learning requirements.

Fully immerse yourself in another culture by spending an entire semester or year abroad. Partner programs are great for students looking for a more independent experience. Programs are available in 30+ countries.

  • Terms offered: Fall, Spring, Academic Year
  • Program Cost: Elmhurst tuition + program housing. Scholarships are available. For more details, visit the Study Abroad Scholarships and Financing page.
  • Eligibility: Sophomores, Juniors or Seniors with a minimum 2.75 GPA. Check your preferred program for any additional eligibility criteria.
  • Application: Complete the Elmhurst application on the study abroad portal, along with a $500 deposit and the program application on the partner website.
  • Advising (required): Prior to applying, students should meet with Global Engagement for an advising session.
  • Credits: 3.0-4.75 credits. AoK, Major, Minor or Elective credit available. All programs fulfill the G tag and Experiential Learning requirements.

  • Terms offered: Fall, Spring, Academic Year
  • Program Cost: Elmhurst tuition + room and board. Scholarships are available. For more details, visit the Study Abroad Scholarships and Financing page.
  • Eligibility: Sophomores, Juniors or Seniors with a minimum 2.75 GPA. Check your preferred program for any additional eligibility criteria.
  • Application: Complete the Elmhurst application on the study abroad portal, along with a $500 deposit and the exchange application on the partner website. Students rank program preferences; final placement is determined by ISEP and the host university.
  • Advising (required): Prior to applying, students should meet with Global Engagement for an advising session.
  • Credits: 3.0-4.75 credits. AoK, Major, Minor or Elective credit available. All programs fulfill the G tag and Experiential Learning requirements.

Spend your summer completing an internship or coursework abroad.

  • Terms offered: Summer
  • Program Cost: Partner tuition + housing. No Elmhurst scholarships are available. For more details, visit the Study Abroad Scholarships and Financing page.
  • Eligibility: Sophomores, Juniors or Seniors with a minimum 2.75 GPA. Check your preferred program for any additional eligibility criteria.
  • Application: Complete both the Elmhurst application on the study abroad portal and the program application on the partner website.
  • Advising (required): Prior to applying, students should meet with Global Engagement for an advising session.
  • Credits: 0.75-3.0 credits. AoK, Major, Minor or Elective credit available. All programs fulfill the G tag and Experiential Learning requirements. Summer programs will be shown as transfer credit.
