Law School Application Timeline
Planning to apply to law school? Here’s a timeline to help you stay on track.
Junior Year, Spring Term
- Meet with the pre-law advisor to discuss application plan
- Register with the Law School Admission Council (LSAC)
- Take LSAT prep course
Junior Year, Summer
- Take the LSAT (or wait until September)
Senior Year, Early Fall
- Take the September LSAT, if necessary
- Ask faculty for recommendation letters
- Write personal statement
- Order transcripts
- Finalize list of law schools to apply to
Senior Year, Late Fall
- Complete and send applications
Senior Year, Winter/Spring
- Receive admission decisions
