Michael Savage

Dr. Savage has an extensive background in the methodology of teaching and has developed special laboratory sites at a number of area schools. His academic interests include research on Australian and American adolescents’ health risk behaviors, best teaching practices for physical education teachers, and the impact of service-learning on student’s academic and personal development. Several peer-reviewed articles related to his research in these areas have been published in national and international journals. Dr. Savage has received funding from several agencies in support of his research and teaching interests. He has made numerous presentations, including one to the First China-U.S.A. Conference on Best Teaching Practices in Beijing, China. Among the courses he teaches are Introduction to Physical Education Pedagogy and Physical Education for Special Populations.
Dr. Savage also teaches international study away courses.
