Gary S. Wilson has served as a professor of Supply Chain Management since 2001. The foundation of his supply chain background is a result of the years he spent as a corporate transportation manager, district sales manager for a large third-party logistics firm and director of client services for an information technology company.
Outside the academic environment, he has been actively involved in continuing education and private consulting for more than 30 years. Also, he has served on the Continuing Education Committees for many professional associations, including the National Private Truck Council (NPTC), Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) and the Warehouse Education and Research Council (WERC).
I am truly passionate about teaching business students that a classroom is a place where they can learn to take informed risks, not be afraid to fail and know that there may not be one right answer! Elmhurst’s small class sizes give me the opportunity to know my students and their abilities, and push them outside their comfort zones. As a result, I am always challenged to provide new, innovative ways to teach current business theory while at the same time helping students develop the practical skills necessary to be successful in their chosen profession.
