Choral-Aide
We welcome all high school students to a fun and educational day of preparation for the ILMEA auditions.
You will have the opportunity to rehearse the all-state audition music with the Elmhurst University Concert Choir, receive sight-reading tips and audition strategies, and be led through sectionals with the University’s applied voice and choral faculty. The day will culminate in a mock audition* with a member of the University’s voice faculty, and you will receive immediate feedback.

Registration at Hammerschmidt Memorial Chapel
1:00–2:00 p.m.
Welcome and warm-up with Sarah Catt, our new director of choral activities
Rehearsal of all-state audition music with the Elmhurst University Concert Choir
2:00–2:15 p.m.
Escorted walk through the Elmhurst University arboretum campus to Irion Hall
Complimentary snacks will be available throughout the day
2:15–3:00 p.m.
Sectionals and Sight Reading suggestions with members of the Voice and Choral Faculty
3:00–4:30 p.m.
Mock auditions*, as close to the “actual” auditions as possible with immediate feedback.
*Limited to 60 singers.
4:30 p.m.
Conclusion of event and pickup at Irion Hall
All high school-age students are welcome to participate in the day’s events and should pre-register online.
Parents and Choral Directors are welcome to attend 1:00-3:00 p.m. during the rehearsal with the EC Concert Choir and the sectionals and sight-reading with the EC Voice and Choral faculty.
