ILMEA Workshops
High school and junior high musicians are invited to attend the Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA) workshops to prepare for ILMEA auditions. These master classes will be taught by members of the Elmhurst University music faculty and guest artists.
Workshop Details
The Elmhurst University Concert Choir, Philharmonic Orchestra and Wind Ensemble will rehearse, perform and assist in the workshops. Activities may include master classes, performances of the required audition music, sectionals, tips on sight-reading, audition strategies and mock auditions. Students also may receive instruction in individual lessons, small groups or large ensembles. Lunch or snacks will be provided.
Band Aide and Choral Aide Workshops are available for high school musicians living in any ILMEA district. Orchestra-Aide is available to junior high musicians living in ILMEA districts 1, 7 and 9 (Chicagoland area).
Fall 2019 Workshops
- Orchestra-Aide: Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019, 9:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
- Band-Aide: Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019, 12:30 p.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Choral-Aide: Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, 12:30 p.m.–4:30 p.m.
