How to Apply
Elmhurst University offers an exceptionally transfer-friendly environment. We are committed to making your transfer experience as smooth as possible with a streamlined admission process.
Apply in Four Easy Steps
- Apply online—it’s free!
- Submit your official transcripts from high school and all colleges or universities you have attended. Transcripts can be sent by mail or emailed (see below).
- Submit your ACT® or SAT® scores if you have less than 12 hours of transferable credit. Request your scores be sent directly to Elmhurst through ACT® or The College Board. With Elmhurst University being test-optional for the 2021-2022 school year, you may opt to submit an essay in place of the test scores. You can upload your essay directly to your application portal or send it to [email protected].
- Note: If you are applying to the Distance Accelerated BSN or the Distance Master’s Entry in Nursing Practice online programs, please send official electronic transcripts to [email protected]. Please confirm the receiving address when ordering, as many sending institutions have default email addresses in their systems. If sent to any other Elmhurst University email address, there may be a delay in processing the documents.
- Explore financial aid and scholarships. Elmhurst offers transfer scholarships worth as much as 50% of tuition, and all of our full-time students receive some form of financial aid.

While most of the application process is online, you may need to send certain documents by mail or email.
