Elizabeth Levine
Hi! I’m EJ. I have been working as an OT since 2010. I have worked with adults in various settings, including Assisted Living, Acute Rehabilitation, Outpatient, Skilled Nursing, Long Term Care, and Home Health. I am also a Certified Lymphedema Therapist. I have worked with adult and geriatric patients with acute and chronic conditions including cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, substance abuse, dementia, and more. I have had experience as a Director of Rehabilitation for a therapy department, and I am currently the Lead OT for the Assisted Living Facility where I work.
One of my favorite parts of being an OT is helping people accomplish seemingly simple tasks such as putting socks on when they haven’t been able to after an illness or injury. I also love building relationships with my clients and being a part of their path to wellness. I recently stepped into the academic world, after supervising many students in the clinical setting. I absolutely love teaching! I try to encourage my students to explore all aspects of OT and keep an open mind. I hope to help the next generation find the joy of OT and guide them on the path to making the world a better place.
Outside of working as an OT, I mentor a high school robotics competition team. I help the team with outreach, social media, and website content. I try to help my students build connections between the technical info they learn and the impact on the real world. I often talk about the connection between STEM and the world of healthcare.
My other current and past interests include gardening, cooking, audiobooks, my cats, dancing, and sailing!
