Inertia 1

Inertia is an object’s resistance to a change in motion. An object’s motion will not change unless a force acts upon it. Initially, the tower and ball are at rest, but the bus exerts a force on the tower, pushing it to the side. Ignoring friction, the only force acting on the ball is the force of gravity, pulling the ball straight down to the surface. Since the bus does not exert any force on the ball, it has no lateral motion.
