The ELSA Alumni Continuing Education Program at Elmhurst College enables ELSA graduates to return to campus and take any of the several new courses that faculty have introduced in the last few years.
The program gives alumni an opportunity to learn more, reconnect with the College and make new friends.
ELSA alumni may take one free course each school year beginning with the 2014-2015 academic year, with approval from the program director. Courses available to ELSA alumni for Fall Term 2014 include ELSA 038 Communications I, ELSA 046 Business Writing and ELSA 084 Financial Smarts III. In the Spring of 2015, available courses include ELSA 039 Communications II, ELSA 047 Computer Applications in the Workplace and ELSA 085 Financial Smarts IV. Seats in these courses are on a space-available basis. Alumni can register one week prior to the beginning of the semester, and can choose to take the course for a letter grade or on an audit basis.
A four-year certificate program, ELSA provides a full-time, post-secondary educational experience to young adults with developmental disabilities. The program emphasizes academics and career exploration, independent living skills, and social and recreational skills. Upon completion of the ELSA program, students are better prepared to work productively and live as independently as possible.
