Elmhurst University has a responsibility to maintain and improve campus facilities and infrastructure to effectively support our academic and co-curricular programs, and to do so with a focus on sustainable best practices and universal design. This includes providing state-of-the-art tools and technologies as well as inclusive, accessible and inspiring spaces for students, faculty and staff to be successful in the classroom, competitive in the workplace and impactful in the community.
Strategic Priorities
Update and continue execution of the facilities master plan to better serve our students, faculty, staff and surrounding community
We believe that maintaining and enhancing our facilities is essential to meeting our expectations for a high quality, transformative living and learning environment and experience for our students. We will focus our efforts on academic, recreational, residential and parking needs, with a particular focus on addressing ADA accessibility and deferred maintenance. We will create a sense of identity in spaces across campus for collaboration, inclusion, innovation, and growth by students, faculty, and staff. The methods we employ to achieve these goals will be fiscally prudent, environmentally friendly and sustainable.
Advance a comprehensive technology plan to serve and support institutional needs
We believe that effective use of technology provides the infrastructure central to serving our students and employees. We will address the technology needs identified throughout the strategic plan, equip individuals and offices to meet their technology needs, provide training to utilize this technology effectively, and promote opportunities for collaboration and growth through technology across campus.
Support the enhancement of academic technology for faculty and students
We believe that the effective use of technology strengthens the teaching and learning experience for students and faculty. We will work collaboratively to evaluate and enhance technology tools in support of student learning in face-to-face, hybrid and online learning environments.
