Hit and Run Quoting
Don't let yourself be caught in a hit and run. When quoting from sources for a paper, remember to have something to set up your quotation. The information preceding the quotation should be a nice lead-in for the quote. And any quotation should be followed by some explanation, interpretation, or conclusion. It is ineffective in writing to leave a quote dangling without any explicitly made connections to the rest of the paragraph. Give purpose to information you present to your audience. You cannot assume that your readers will understand what you are trying to imply. Fill in the holes for them.

Happy writing!
