Programs and Files

SmallBasic -- All students in Math 151 and 152 must download this program.  This program is freeware created by Nicholas Christopoulos and is licensed under the GNU General Public License.  Documentation can be found at http://smallbasic.sourceforge.net/
(Note for people running Palm OS 4.0 or higher:  The first time you start SmallBasic, you must do the following.  Under the Pref menu, select Options.  Check the box next to "Use PalmOS 3.5 for screen".  Then exit out of SmallBasic.  When you next start SmallBasic, the graphics should work correctly.)

EasyCalc  -- All students in Math 151 and 152 must downoad this program.  This program is freeware created by Ondrej Palkovsky and is licensed under the GNU General Public License.  Documentation can be found at http://easycalc.sourceforge.net/
Math Library -- All students in Math 151 and 152 must download this program.  This program is freeware created by Rick Huebner.  It is necessary to run any sort of mathematical application in Palm OS.
WTInstall (v.1.1.4) -- All students in Math 151 and 152 must download this program.  This program is from TriBeam Technologies.  It is necessary to use the WebTarget infrared
device that is in the classroom.

The following SmallBasic programs have been created by the mathematics faculty at Elmhurst College.

All students in Math 151 and 152 must download these two programs first.  They are necessary to get the other SmallBasic programs to work.

Subroutines Program -- A program that helps the Graphshift Program work
Subroutines Update -- This is needed to make the Rates of Change Program work.

These are all helpful programs for Calculus I (Math 151):

Graphshift Program  -- A program that demonstrates the way a graph "shifts" as parameters are changed.
Rates of Change Program -- This is a quizzing program about tangent and secant lines.
Slopegraph Program -- This is a quizzing program about drawing the slopegraph (derivative) of a function.
Riemann Sums Program -- This is a program that demonstrates and calculates area using Riemann Sums.
Riemann Sums Function Editor -- This function is needed to make the Riemann Sums program work.
Riemann Sums Library -- This function is needed to make the Riemann Sums program work.
Definite Integrals as Area Program -- This is a quizzing program about sketching the area represented by definite integrals.
Estimating Area Program -- This is a quizzing program about understanding positive versus negative area with definite integrals.
Calculating Definite Integrals -- This is a quizzing program about calculating definite integrals (only when the integrand is a polynomial).
Rotations -- This is a program that helps students picture solids of revolutions.

These are all helpful programs for Calculus II (Math 152):

Exponential Graphs Program -- This is a quizzing program about exponential graphs.
Sequences and Series Program -- This is a program that computes sequence terms and series.
Sequence Editor -- This program is where you enter the sequence that is used in the Sequences and Series Program.
Power Series Program -- This is a program that computes power series.
Power Sequence Editor -- This program is where you enter the terms of the power series that is used in the Power Series Program.
Inverse Graphs -- This is a quizzing program about graphing inverse functions
MCQuizzer -- This program randomly generates multiple choice questions selected from the quizdata database.
Quizdata -- This is the database of quiz questions used by the MultipleQuizzer program.  Last updated 4/05/04 (With log material).
Note: To make your MCQuizzer program work correctly each time you update Quizdata, you must follow the directions explained here.
